Kumano Grand Shrines - Wakayama Prefecture, Japan


Awarded Unesco World Heritage status in 2004, Japan’s Kumano Kodo is a unique network of ancient pilgrimage routes that connects a number of important Buddhist shrines.
 
 

Hayatama Taisha is one of Kumano's three important shrines.

 
Together with the other two shrines, Hongu Taisha and Nachi Taisha, Hayatama Taisha holds an important place in Japanese mythology. 


 Kumano Hongu Taisha is one of the Kumano region's three famous shrine.

 
Hongu Taisha is located at the center of the Kumano Kodo network of pilgrimage routes. An enjoyable walk for visitors who wish to experience a pilgrimage trail.
 


 
 
Kumano Nachi Taisha is one of the three Kumano shrines.
 
Like Hongu Taisha and Hayatama Taisha, Nachi Taisha was one of the main destinations of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes.
 


 
A short distance from Seigantoji and Nachi Taisha is the 133 meter waterfall Nachi no Taki.
 
The tallest waterfall in Japan, it was the original religious site in the area.

Korankei Valley in Japan

 
Korankei Valley is a famous autumn-leaf viewing spot in the Chubu Region in Japan.
 
 
 Leaves of 4000 maple trees gradually turn to many different colours and finally to red completely.

Because of the dramatic process, Korankei Valley autumn leaves are praised as “Goshoku Momiji (five-colour maple leaves).



The special light-up at night is beautiful.

 
The lights made everything an amber colored wonderland that was reflected in the water.

Yamagata Guide - Yamadera Temple in Japan


Yamadera is located in eastern mountains of Yamagata Prefecture in Japan.

Risshakuji Temple, also known as, Yamadera is one of the oldest temples in Japan.

Nikko Guide - Ryuzu Waterfall in Japan


The Ryuzu waterfall is located near the junction, where river of Yukawa and Lake Chuzenji meet.

This fall is one of the finest three waterfalls of Oku-Nikko.

Lengh of the fall is 210 meters.

 
The flow of water is divided into two ways by a big rock near the foot of the fall. It looks like a head of dragon.
 
The head of dragon can be called Ryuzu in Japanese.
 
 

 
You will also enjoy azalea in the spring and autumn, and autumnal leaves.

Nikko Guide - Kegon Waterfall, Chuzenji temple in Nikko in Japan

 
Kegon Waterfall is located in Nikko National Park in Nikko in Japan.
 
Kegon Waterfall is 100 meter tall.

 
 
 
 
Kegon Waterfall is ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful falls, along with Nachi Waterfall in Wakayama Prefecture and Fukuroda Waterfall in Ibaraki Prefecture.
 
 
Kegon Waterfall is also a popular autumn color spot.
 
 
 
Chuzenjiko temple is located near Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Waterfall in Nikko.
 
 
Lake Chuzenji is about 3000 feet above sea level and formed among mountain range formed by Mt. Nantai (Nantaisan). 

 


Nikko in Autumn, with its leaves changing colour and falling from the trees, is one of the best places to enjoy this season.
